About Meadowlark Antiques. A Vancouver Landmark
Afternoon Tea was the brain child of the Duchess of Bedford. She found that there was way too much time between lunch, that was usually eaten at the noon hour and dinner that was served from 8pm or later. Finding herself hungry mid afternoon she would ask her cook to send her some sanwiches , petite cakes and a pot of tea to ease her hunger pains until dinner. This craze took over Victirian England and has become the wonderful tradition and ritual that we now know as Afternoon Tea
